Boo!

...mmmmm! Roasted pumpkin seeds. Absolutely deee-lish! Although my amazing mama-in-law would disagree. I didn't believe anyone could dislike something smothered in olive oil, salt and baked to perfection until I watched her slowly chew up a perfectly roasted seed and ever so delicately open the trash can and spit! sigh. Guess I can't please everyone.

But I digress.

In order to get those seeds to roast we had to work as a family. Time to carve a pumpkin!
Lukas was none too happy at the prospect of gutting the orange beast that stared him in the face. This is our child with an all too strong gag reflex. The child that only poo pooed in his pants one time because I threatened him with the idea that next time he would have to clean up the mess himself. He nearly threw up at the idea of that consequence. Yes. Lukas was very quickly potty trained. Price. Less!
So anyways, back to carving pumpkins.

Even La La Girl was in on the action.

And Lo Lo too.

My loving husband got to be artist for a day. He was even allowed to play with sharp knives. Pretty neat, huh? Lukas had the idea of the glasses. Turned out okay, didn't it?

We think so too.

Now. If we can keep the neighborhood hooligans from snatching it off our front porch we might just be in business!

Documenting

I feel as though this hair must be documented. Have you ever seen anything so out of control? It literally just stands on top of her head. I could wet it all down and comb it over and it would still dry in a big poof on top of her head. And for the record...since I am documenting, I think it is absolutely adorable. I wouldn't change a single thing about you Little La La Girl! Crazy hair and all.

Fall is in the Air

Apples and Pumpkins.
Clearly, fall is here!
Last year at about this same time we were on our way back from somewhere (I can't remember where - its been a whole year and my mind is fried from a wonderfully full weekend!) and we happened upon this little Apple Orchard. McClure's Tate Orchard to be exact. And What. A. Place. It was so wonderful we decided to go back again this year. The downside? We only wished he had more time to spend there!

We ate lunch at the Apple Dumplin' Inn, walked up and down the apple tree orchards, played with the barn animals, fed the barn animals and even rode some of the barn animals.
We picked apples, selected a pumpkin, chose apples for teachers, apples for pies, drank warm cider, ate dumplins and watched out for bees that were busy making honey! Can you guess which pumpkin was my favorite in this picture? And now for a very rare family photo:If you notice Logan then you will understand why it is so difficult to get a photo of us all together. The fact that he is kissing a pumpkin squash warms my heart to the core. The fact that Lukas has an amazing smile warms my heart. Landry's half on and half off socks warm my heart. And the fact that my husband packed Landry around the orchard warmed my heart, although I am sure I would have been much warmer had I been the one to haul her around! But this made it all okay that I was cold:

Daddy's lil' girl.

Life is so good.
